With football season kicking off, many will find themselves staying out well into the evenings. The unfortunate closings of Redrock Canyon Grill, Cowtown Brewing Co. and the former Copeland’s New Orleans will have us all on the hunt for new options for those late-night libations and treats. If you’re getting out of Dragon Stadium and are looking to continue the good times, here are six places to try after the Friday night football game.
Now open within the former Copeland’s of New Orleans space inside the Southlake Hilton, The Henley Kitchen & Bar is a new modern American bistro concept that promises to offer a similarly colorful bar scene as its well-known predecessor. An expanded 360-degree bar and lounge offer a mix of authentic yet inspired Southern flavors direct from the mind of Executive Chef Carl Chamberlain. The tasteful remodelers were smart to keep the frosted taps and ice bar in place to serve the coldest drinks in town. And with a daily closing time of 12:00am this bar may very well have the latest “last call” as well.
Speaking of late nights, Fridays at HG Sply Co. in Trophy Club the fun goes until midnight at the expansive open-air bar and lounge. Complete with large screen televisions, yard games like cornhole and ping-pong and a menu that focuses on healthy fare this late-night spot is nothing but good, clean fun.
Opening in Southlake Town Square in 2020, Moxies quickly became a local hit with comfortable seating options and a spacious bar setting. Moxies' menu is globally inspired and features fresh, locally sourced ingredients, from the tuna sushi stack to the chipotle mango chicken. And with beautifully handcrafted cocktails like the mai tai and the cucumber cobbler, you’ll find plenty of fun times awaiting at Moxies.
Both Dragon fans and their out-of-town guests can enjoy cold drinks and live music at Curve Lounge inside The Westin Southlake.
The well-heeled lounge features local and Texas-produced beers and crafted cocktails along with a worldly wine list.
Local beer selections include the ultra-popular Dallas Blonde from Deep Ellum Brewing Company and Community Beer Co.’s Mosaic IPA. Craft whiskies are also available, with highlights including Southlake’s own Oak and Eden brand of finished whiskeys.
Creating special dining experiences through sustainably-sourced seafood and a thoughtfully-crafted cocktail and wine menu, Truluck’s is the high-end choice when dining out after a football game. Whether you’re talking about the fresh Florida stone crab, the Miso-glazed seabass or the carrot cake, you’ll fall in love with all of the coastal flavors Truluck’s provides.
Southlake owned-and operated by Dave Garner and his wife Mary since 2009 , Wildwood Grill has all you need for a night out after the big game. Practically walking distance from the stadium, you can enjoy hand-cut steaks and other foods smoked to perfection in a lively and local restaurant. With stellar bar service, craft whiskey’s and vodka on tap and excellent wine selections, Wildwood Grill offers the perfect hometown experience after the Friday Night Lights go out.
