Given annually by the University Interscholastic League, schools in each classification earn points based on their athletics teams’ performances in district and state championships. The winning school in each classification receives the UIL Lone Star Cup trophy and a $1,000 scholarship.
With the latest update, the scoring now includes the season results for team tennis, cross-country, marching band, military marching band, volleyball, BEST robotics, football, congress, spirit, swimming and diving, wrestling, mariachi, film and basketball. The next update will be released on May 23 and will include Robotics FIRST, soccer, golf, track and field, tennis, theatrical design and one-act play. Standings will become final on July 1.
Last year, Carroll came in third place for the Lone Star Cup with 90 points, following behind Conroe The Woodlands' 117 points and Allen’s 98.
