Stephen McPeek '10: Wrestling, Bucknell University
Stephen McPeek was a four-year varsity wrestler and a versatile athletebrwho was also a member of the football and track teams as a sophomore. Stephen,bra captain and All-State selection, was a five-time Texas state champion inbrGreco-Roman and freestyle wrestling. After graduation, he became an integralbrmember of the Bucknell Bisons, immediately taking to the competition as abrfreshman. His senior year at Bucknell was hampered by injuries, but Stephenbrfinished his career with an overall winning record, predominantly competing atbrthe 165-174lb weight classes.
Kayden Cook ’12: Volleyball, Setter, Dartmouth University
During her years as a Dragon, Kayden Cook was a standout setter andbrtwo-time captain of the girls volleyball team. Her senior year, Kayden was anbrAll-District performer for a team that went undefeated in district play (15-0)brand 42-3 overall. Wasting little time acclimating to collegiate athletics,brKayden stepped in to lead the Dartmouth Big Green with 562 assists, including abrseason-best 52 assists in a five-set win over Harvard. After the completion of her sophomore season,brKayden now ranks ninth on the program's all-time list of assist leaders.
Austin McCasin '12: Tennis, Army
Austin was a standout performer throughout his varsity career. Honoredbras a four-time All-District first team member, he was also named the team'sbrmost valuable player in both his junior and senior seasons. Austin immediatelybrmade his mark at West Point, competing in both singles and doubles matches forbrthe Patriot League regular season champions. Now as a sophomore for the ArmybrBlack Knights, Austin is an integral part of the current 16-1 team that isbrvying for another winning season.
Ted Singley '12: Swimming, Freestyle, University of SouthernbrCalifornia
A two-time 5A state champion swimmer in the 200 and 500 freestyle hisbrsenior year, this former Dragon was also a high school All-American who spentbrmuch of his youth swimming for the renowned North Texas Nadadores. Now abrsophomore at the University of Southern California, he has a personal record ofbr1:38.38 in the 200 freestyle and 4:22.14 in the 500 freestyle. A solidbrcontributor for the country's No. 4 ranked squad, Ted also qualified for thisbryear's NCAA Division 1 National Championships, held this past March.
Katelyn Vinson '12: Softball, Midwestern State University
Katelyn was a two-time All-District player and the 2012 districtbroffensive player of the year. The hard-hitting third baseman had a team highbrbatting average of .500 during her senior season. After walking on to thebrMidwestern State University Mustangs, she quickly earned distinction as an All-American,brthe school's first-ever as a freshman with a .503 batting average on thebrseason. Also in her first collegiate season, she paced the NCAA Division II,brranking fifth in average, third in HRs (22) and fourth in slugging (.976).
Vince Martino '12: Golf, University of Houston
Named a Rolex All-American in his junior year on the Dragon golf team,brVince was considered one of the top 48 high school golfers in the nation. Thebrfour-year letter winner also won the HP Byron Nelson Junior Championship withbran even-par 213. As a University of Houston Cougar, Vince was a member of thebr2013 Conference USA All-Freshman Team. Now in his sophomore year, he completedbrhis best outing this past fall, posting a final round 68 and 210 overall — goodbrfor -3 under par and fourth place at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic.
