The Carroll Dragons released the 2020 football schedule this past weekend. Head football coach Riley Dodge returns for a third season after two consecutive 13-1 seasons and winning the 2019 Landry Award for Coach of the Year.
The 2020 season will open on Friday, Aug. 28, at the AT&T Stadium, with coach Dodge going head-to-head against his father Todd and the Austin Westlake Chaparrals in the 100th celebration of Texas high school football.
After taking on Rockwall Heath on their own turf Sept. 4, the Dragons will play their homecoming game against Prosper High School on Sept. 11. Their final two away games in September will be held at Arlington Martin High School on Sept. 18 and Byron Nelson High School on Sept. 24.
The Dragons’ Oct. 2 pink-out game will be against Keller at the Dragon Stadium, while their Oct. 9 away game will be against Keller Central. The next game will celebrate Dragon Youth Football during a home game against Eaton High School on Oct. 23, while their Oct. 29 away game will be against Keller Timber Creek. The season will conclude with senior night on Nov. 6 against Keller Fossil Ridge at Dragon Stadium.
Returning players include Max Preps sophomore of the year Quinn Ewers, who was also named the No. 1 recruit in the nation by ESPN, as well as running back Owen Allen, wide receiver Brady Boyd and kicker Joe McFaddon.
