In its last game of the regular season, Southlake Carroll finished strong, defeating Keller Fossil Ridge 62-14.
Offensively, it was junior quarterback Kaden Anderson and senior wide receiver RJ Maryland who made the most impact. Anderson completed 88% of his passes, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Maryland — our Dragon Pride Player Of The Week, presented by AC Pros — caught two of those touchdowns as part of his nine receptions for 154 yards.
Running back Owen Allen also continued to show off, rushing for 169 yards and two touchdowns — putting him in a tie with Tre Newton for most career rushing yards.
Defensively, Aaron Scherp was a standout. The sophomore linebacker made an interception, recovered a fumble and scored a touchdown. Other players who had a big night include senior defensive lineman Barrett Baker, who recorded a sack, and senior defensive lineman Calder Bray, who made three tackles for losses.
