Though they fell short 49-35 in Saturday’s game against the Duncanville Panthers, the Carroll Dragons finished the season strong with a 13-1 record.
Saturday’s game saw the Dragons’ quarterback Quinn Ewers — and DFW Elite Realty Player of the Game, sponsored by Thomas and Sharon Michael — throw 33-52 for 393 yards and three touchdowns, which puts Ewers over 4,000 passing yards and 45 touchdowns for the season.
The offense behind Ewers also had a strong showing. Receiver Owen Allen rushed for 115 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns. Wills Meyer had nine receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown while Brady Boyd had 11 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. Fellow wide receiver John Manero also recorded a touchdown and has 141 yards on seven receptions.
However, the Dragon defense met its match in Duncanville’s Ja’Quinden Jackson. The senior player completed all of his eight passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed 12 times for 129 yards and three more touchdowns.
But the Dragons finished strong with their 13-1 record and now look ahead to next season with three star players in underclassmen Ewers, Allen and Boyd.
