A familiar face will be joining the cast of “Fansville” for its seventh season.
Debuting on Monday, Aug. 26, “Fansville” is an episodic series produced by Dr. Pepper that depicts a fictional college football town. The first episode is titled “Call For Backup” and features Carroll grad and current Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers playing a sheriff’s deputy. Surprisingly, this collaboration marks the first time the Plano-based soft drink brand has partnered with a Texas-based athlete.
Last season, Ewers led the Longhorns to a 12-2 record and a Big 12 Championship as he threw for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns while achieving a 158.6 QB Rating. Arguably the nation’s top collegiate quarterback for the No. 4-ranked team in the nation, Ewers is continuing to make the most of his time in Austin.
“Dr. Pepper is ingrained in college football, woven into the culture and fandom surrounding the sport,” chief marketing officer Andrew Springate says. “As we mark Dr Pepper's 10th anniversary of becoming the Official Sponsor of the College Football Playoffs, we welcome the new changes energizing the game, as it provides us with even greater opportunities to engage with both new and long-term fans.”
