After matching the record during the Dragons' game against Fossil Ridge, junior running back Owen Allen has officially broken the Southlake Carroll record for most career rushing yards.
Rushing for 129 yards and three touchdowns against North Crowley, Allen has now carried the ball for 4,924 yards during his time as a Dragon, which is 129 yards more than previous record-holder Tre Newton’s 4,795 yards, earned between 2005-07.
His freshman and sophomore year performances helped him break the record, where he rushed for 1,266 and 2,063 yards respectively.
Next on deck, Allen will look to increase his record when the Dragons take on Midland Legacy at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20 at Arlington Globe Life Park.
