Dragon Football has its own five-star recruit. Southlake Quarterback Quinn Ewers is the first Texas high schooler in his class to earn this ranking, while other recent announcements included athletes who received a four-star status and were on a five-star watchlist. He's also the only Dragon in recent history to receive this honor, with other big names like Chase Daniel and Riley Dodge receiving three-star status respectively.
This is not the first honor Ewers has received since his breakout football season. ESPN named him the No. 1 college football recruit in the country. And MaxPreps named Ewers the sophomore of the year. “The Dallas Morning News” also credited Ewers as the No. 2 returning passing stat leader for the 2018-2019 season.
Football fans will have to wait until the first scheduled game, August 28, to see what’s next for the starter. But with big-time college football schools already extending offers to Ewers, it looks like he has a long career in the sport ahead of him.
