The Southlake Carroll cross-country team proved its athletic might this past weekend. During the Southlake Invitational at Bob Jones Park on Aug. 28, the team won all four varsity races, according to a press release.
Junior Hunter Hill finished first among the Dragons’ male runners, clocking in with a time of 15:40, while senior Kaylie Cox earned a third-place finish with a time of 17:35.
“This was a good start to our season,” Southlake Carroll head coach Justin Leonard says via press release. “We’re returning most of last year’s top girls, and Kaylie picked up right where she left off. On the boys’ side, a lot of last year’s top runners graduated, and I was really pleased to see how well the newer faces ran today.”
The next competition for the cross-country team is the Coach T Invitational, which will take place on Sept. 4 at North Lakes Park in Denton.
