Carroll's Emerald Belles competed at the CrowdbrPleasers drill team contest Feb. 20-21 at Timber Creek High School, and won first place overall out of the entirebrcompetition, according to Laura Parrish. The team was named Overall Grand Champion and received trophies,brbanner, and a winner's check.
The Belles also won their division as wellbras first place in high kick, jazz, and lyrical. They were awarded the highest scoring dance of the day for their high kick routine, outstanding technique,brprecision, and choreography. The jazz and high kick both placed first overall outbrof every division.
The Belle Officers competed in the Officer Division and received first runner-upbroverall, first in lyrical, first in jazz, second in contemporary, and outstandingbrtechnique, precision, and choreography.
In the junior/senior solo divisionbrAddie Perkins and Jessica Bowman were awarded second place, Laurel Kavanagh thirdbrplace, and Sophia Parrish fourth place.
In the freshman/sophomore solo divisionbrClaire McCoy won second place and Ashley Estridge third place. In the duet divisionbrClaire Berutti and Peyton Faltys received second place. Shivani Chandra, LaurenbrDooley, Lauren Teeuws, Catherine Brannon, Ryleigh Malloy, Morgan Kay, MadisynbrDaniel, Claire McCoy, Bethany Sauls, Kelly Alspaw, Audrey Vestal, and AshleybrGreene entered in the medium ensemble division and were awarded third place.
