Kate Coates knew she wanted to be an Emerald Belle ever since attending her first Dragon football game at the age of 4. This fall, Kate will be leading the Belles for her fourth and final year.
“I have loved football ever since I was a little girl,” Kate says. “It is so exciting when the Belles get to participate with cheer, band, the community and so many more to cheer on the Dragons. You feel a sense of unity at every game. It is just amazing.”
When the Emerald Belles competed at “America’s Got Talent” in 2019, Kate remembers being so anxious until a group of seniors prayed over her team and hyped them up before hitting the stage.
“The unity and compassion we had in the moments leading up to our first ‘AGT’ performance is exactly what the Belles stand for,” Kate says. “I strive every day, and so does our director, to be a leader that embodies what a Belle is.”
Kate hopes to continue her dance career into college where she will major in nursing or business.
