The Lady Dragons soccer team is scoring big this season, cracking the Top 5 in the StudentsSports, ESR FAB 50 rankings, at No. 5.
The Lady Dragons travelled to the Governor's Cup where they geared up to play some of the state's toughest competition. If that wasn't enough, the team also battled the elements of Texas weather -- a freak ice storm -- shortening the tournament by one game.
However, the weather or competition weren't enough to hold Carroll from going 2-0 for the weekend, defeating Round Rock Westwood 3-1 and Vandergrit 2-0 before opening district play with an massive tally of goals, demolishing Keller Central 7-0.
With this impressive 3-0 week, the team is now 7-0-1 and 1-0 in district play.
Up next, the Lady Dragons continue its fight for district play at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 at Keller Timber Creek and then back homeat 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 versus Richland.
On a similar note, the Dragons soccer team currently stand at 3-3-1 overall and 0-0-1 in district play. While it's an unusual situation for the Dragons to be in, more games are to come.
Carroll will take on Timber at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 at Dragon Stadium. Additionally, the Dragons will play Richland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Birdsville ISD.
