Two Southlake Carroll football players — Quinn Ewers and Owen Allen — have been named among the top 10 returning stat leaders for passing and rushing, respectively, by "The Dallas Morning News."
Quinn Ewers was named the No. 2 returning passing stat leader, with the "The Dallas Morning News" noting, “Expectations at Southlake Carroll are always high. Throw in the fact that he was the most accurate QB by a wide margin of anyone on this list, plus an insane 15-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio, and you’ve got some Dragons fans salivating at the possibilities for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.”
Ewers has completed 291 of 402 passes, which is a 72.4 completion rate, for 3,998 yards, 45 touchdowns and only three interceptions, according to the Dallas Morning News.
He’s been heavily scouted by colleges and named ESPN’s No. 1 recruit and the MaxPreps Sophomore of the Year.
Allen is No. 3 on the list of returning rushing stat leaders, and "The Dallas Morning News" highlights the fact that he is one of three players that topped 100 yards rushing against Duncanville in 2019. His stats include 210 carries for 1,262 yards (around 6 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. Among his accomplishments, Allen was also named to the 2019 MaxPreps High School Freshman All-American Football Team.
With both Ewers and Allen returning, Southlake Carroll is looking stronger than ever when the season starts in the fall.
