Del Frisco's Grille (DFG)brknows how to do burgers. It also knows how to turn those burgers into a way tobrgive back to the community. In May, North Texas locations of DFG celebratedbrNational Burger Month with something called the Craft Burger Wars. It's just asbrfun as it sounds.
Throughout the month ofbrMay, DFG locations in Southlake, Dallas and Ft. Worth competed against eachbrother to sell the most unique, location-specific burgers, with $1 of eachbrburger sale going to a local charity chosen by the restaurant.
For the Craft Burger Wars,brSouthlake's Chef Henschen created the “Lone Star Prime Beef Burger,” a tangybrBBQ beef brisket added to a traditional four-ounce beef patty and topped with pepperbrjack cheese and sweet pickled jalapenos on a brioche bun. This creative, true-to-Texasbrburger helped Del Frisco's Grille Southlake outsell the Dallas and Ft. Worthbrrestaurants by nearly 200 burgers, raising $700 for the Texas Rangers BaseballbrFoundation.
In August, Del Frisco'sbrGrille Southlake's General Manager Gemma Brady and Executive Chef AaronbrHenschen presented Executive Director Karin Morris with a check for $700 forbrthe Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. The winnings will be used by thebrfoundation to improve the lives of children within the DFW community andbrprovide funding for youth baseball and education programs.
