After dominating in the regional semifinals, the Dragons are headed to the fifth round of the playoffs. In the first game of the series against Marcus, the Dragons won 5-4 by walking it off thanks to a 2-RBI single by Gunnar Krug.
The second game of the series proved no less exciting. In a 9-0 win, Owen Proksch — with help from Luke Gornell after the UIL pitch limit — threw a no-hitter to shut down the Marcus offense. Meanwhile, the other players stepped up on the offense. Gunnar Krug went two for three and stole four bases while Ethan Mendoza batted in three runs and stole a base.
Now with the regional finals looming, Dragon Baseball will take on Keller in another three-game series. Set at Dallas Baptist University, the first game of the series is set for Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and the second game of the series is set for Friday at 5 p.m. Should there be a third game, it will be on Saturday at 5 p.m.
