The Dragon Baseball team has done it again. After defeating Ridge Point 6-1 at the state semifinal game, the Dragons went on to triumph 8-5 over the San Antonio Reagan Rattlers to secure the championship.
Following the end of the game, several Dragons received additional recognition. Owen Proksch, committed to Duke University, was named MVP for his pitching performance throughout the game. The senior pitched 5.2 innings, striking out nine batters while making two hits and 2 RBIs.
Meanwhile, Owen, catcher Clark Springs, second baseman Ben Tryon, shortstop Ethan Mendoza and outfielder Max Reyes were all named to the UIL 6A All-Tournament Team.
This is the fifth overall state championship for Dragon Baseball, which previously won state in 2018 and 2019.
