In thebrbattle to represent Texas and the Southwest, the Lady Dragons lacrosse teambrwill be leading the way as three players earned spots in the upcoming national Under Armour Underclass Tournament. Representing the Southwest Highlight (2017/2018)brTeam will be Audrey Beam, a defensive midfielder, and goalie, Chloe Monroe,brwhile defender Jordyn Harryman will be a member of the Command (2019/2020)brteam. For the boys, sophomore midfielder and face-off specialist Luke Leffingwell earned a spot on thebrCommand team.
ThebrSouthwest teams represent not only the best 22 players in Texas but Arizona,brArkansas, Colorado, New Mexico and Oklahoma as well. The teams were selected viabrtryouts during May and June. These teams will now travel to Baltimore, Maryland,brto compete in the Under Armour Underclass Tournament, against 10 other regionalbrteams.
Thesebrladies, as well as teammates, will also compete in the C2C Showcase event. Thisbrevent brings top-level girls to the area to develop skills and display theirbrtalents to the DFW area. This showcase gives participants the opportunity tobrimprove their games, compete and make impressions on coaches from some of thebrtop programs in the nation.
Thebrprograms represented will include a wide range of programs including Duke,brNotre Dame, Maryland, Virginia, Georgetown, Princeton, Stanford, Wagner,brLouisville, James Madison and Ohio State.
