After winning four straight UIL 6A state championships in a row, Southlake Carroll graduate Hailey Hernandez is taking it to the next level at the 2020 Summer Olympics next month.
The Dragon diver secured her spot at the Olympics during the women’s individual springboard final on Saturday, June 12 in Indianapolis. Competing across five rounds, Hailey won second place with a total score of 926.55. Since the top two divers qualify for the Olympics, Hailey will be traveling to Tokyo next month to represent the United States. Carroll diver Bridget O’Neil competed at the finals as well, and although she didn't secure a spot in the top two, she still finished 10th with a final score of 784.25
You can watch Hailey compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics starting July 25 on NBC.
