The Dragon Cheerleaders commanded the stage at the UIL Spirit State Championships over the weekend.
Competing against 67 teams from around the state, the Carroll Dragon Cheerleaders were judged on their fight song, band chant and crowd leading in front of judges. After finishing with a score of 199.2 in the qualifying round, the Dragons finished in first place and advanced to the state championship round, where they continued to dominate with a strong performance.
By the end of the night, the Dragon Cheerleaders finished second with a final score of 89.25, with Katy Seven Lakes finishing first with a score of 93.45.
“We are incredibly proud of our cheerleaders and their many accomplishments!” cheer sponsor Julie Cox says. “They have persevered through every obstacle, and their diligent efforts have paid off.”
Congratulations Dragons!
