Tuesday, January 17th will be a day Lady Dragon basketball star Camryn Tade will not soon forget. The four-year varsity player celebrated two major milestones, first announcing her commitment to West Point, and later scoring the 2,000th point of her varsity career.
Camryn fittingly scored her 2,000th point by hitting a 3-point basket in the first half of the Lady Dragons' 70-28 victory over district rival Keller Timber Creek. Not only did she fill the basket — the senior captain showed her versatility, posting 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals on the night.
“[We are] so thrilled for Camryn,” says Lady Dragon Head Basketball Coach Robin McCoart. “She has put in the work and her relentless play is evident in this amazing achievement. Her teammates the last four years have been instrumental in her success on the court, and they celebrate with her!”
West Point is also celebrating the commitment of such an accomplished athlete, who is rated the 15th-best recruit in the Dallas area according to "The Dallas Morning News”.
Camryn is averaging 21.5 points, four assists and seven rebounds per game for coach McCoart’s Lady Dragons, who are now 22-3 on the season and an undefeated 8-0 in District 4-6A.
Fans can help celebrate the milestone achievement this coming Friday, January 20th when the Lady Dragons host the Haltom City Buffaloes at 6:30 p.m. at Carroll Senior High School.
