The Southlake student non-profit group Dragons Give Back continues to make waves in the community with their fun and extreme approach to charity.
The group was originally featured on “Good Morning Texas” back in 2022 after taking on a series of “outrageous charity” dares alongside students of Allen High School. Through powder fights, shaving heads, and other activities, the groups raised over $5,000 to support Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer.
Through Dragons Give Back, Southlake students held their latest stunt, a belly flop contest, at the school’s Elise Cerami Aquatic Center. According to Dragon Media, the event raised more than $200 in support of Kinetic Kids, whose mission is to enrich the lives of special needs children and their families.
“The belly flop contest was one of the greatest things I think any school has done for charity,” CISD junior and water polo player Colin Heintz told Dragon Media. “I’m more than happy to do something involving my love of the water for a good cause. “
