Free STAAR Prep Seminar

STAAR. The test strikes fear in every public school student in Texas. 2018 is no different. What do you know about STAAR? How can you best help your child do their best on the test? For many kids, the struggle is primarily in the math section, and here at Mathnasium, we are pulling out all the stops to make sure we do our level best to prepare our students. We feel that being in the Mathnasium program and working on the foundations of their math skills is excellent preparation, but we also know that HOW the questions are asked on STAAR often trip up students, so good preparation should include some practice on HOW to take the test! We are holding a FREE special seminar on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 PM at our Southlake Mathnasium center to share what we know about this year's test, and help give you some strategies for better success for your child. The seminar will be led by Dr. Valerie Johnson, Center Director of Mathnasium of North Dallas. Dr. Johnson has helped prepare all of the Dallas area Mathnasium centers for the STAAR tests, and has particularly insightful information about the test, and what to do to prepare for it. The presentation will be to the point. We will tell you what we know, and we will tell you what our plans are at Mathnasium to prepare the students, and we will answer some questions you may have, and then we'll adjourn. Hopefully the whole event will take about an hour of your time, well spent.
