Fresh, wholesome ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible, is the name of the game at Redrock Canyon Grill. Located at 2221 E. Southlake Blvd. in the Kimball Oaks Center, Redrock offers dishes for all tastes, including a hearty Emerald Kale & Rotisserie Chicken Salad and a decadent Steak & Enchilada Platter.
With a spacious, open kitchen as its focal point, the restaurant thrives on its fast-paced environment. Whether you opt for the ambiance inside or prefer those patio vibes, you’ll notice that the atmosphere at Redrock is just as much a part of the experience as is the scratch-made food.
“I love the energy in the air at Redrock,” says Kelli Grimes, the restaurant’s proprietor. “There’s always something going on, always something to look at and it’s always just a fun place to be.”
The pride that Redrock puts into its food and service is obvious. Recipes are carried out and perfected — by hand, no less — each day by seasoned chefs. Those delectable glazed carrots on your plate? You can guarantee they were sliced fresh that very morning.
“We are a scratch kitchen, so all meats, fish and produce are cut in-house daily,” Grimes says. “We combine fresh ingredients so our guests can experience powerful flavors and aromas that are lovingly prepared in our kitchen.”
And rather than just using whatever is available, the chefs at Redrock make a conscious decision to buy the best ingredients possible. Grimes notes that they use “a little bit of everything from all over Texas.” Redrock’s seafood, for example, is provided by Frugé Seafood, a 23-year-old company based out of Grand Prairie. The lightly fried Catfish Platter with tartar sauce, coleslaw and French fries and the Shrimp Sauté with asparagus, bell peppers, pesto, Italian sausage and linguine are both fantastic options if you’re in the mood for a taste of the sea.
But if you ask Grimes, Redrock’s seafood dish to beat is the Salmon Caesar Salad with sweet rémoulade and avocado. “I love the flavors in our spicy Caesar dressing,” she says. “Plus, our cornbread croutons and marinated salmon are the best in town.”
That attention to details spills over into the dessert menu, as well. Grimes’s pick? The Key Lime Pie, no questions asked.
“It’s everyone’s favorite,” she says. “It’s made with graham cracker crust with nuts and hints of butter and brown sugar. The delicious key lime custard melts in your mouth, and it’s topped off with our house-made whipped cream. So yummy.”
Redrock offers a fantastic daily social hour menu as well. From 4-6 p.m., enjoy $2 domestic bottles, $4 draft beer, $5 wine features, $6 classic cocktails and $7 starters, including, the Texas stuffed poblano, spinach artichoke dip and Buffalo wings.
