There’s nothing quite like biting into a fresh piece of fruit. And thanks to a beloved food truck, the finest peaches are coming to Southlake.
The Peach Truck, a family-owned fresh fruit vendor, will come to Southlake on June 1. Owners Stephen and Jessica Rose created the business in 2012 and have been selling fresh Georgia peaches out of their ’64 Jeep truck ever since. By partnering with growers in Stephen’s home state of Georgia, they are able to bring the freshest peaches directly to customers.
“The Peach Truck is really a celebration of summer and joy, and we do that through peaches,” Stephen says. “I grew up eating peaches right off the tree in my hometown of Fort Valley, GA, and couldn’t figure out why peaches tasted so bad at the grocery stores. I found out that time off the tree and allowing the peach to ripen is the biggest factor, so we fixed it!
The Roses stand by their product and even warn potential customers that their peaches will blow grocery store varieties out of the water. In fact, they go as far to offer a sweet and juicy guarantee, so there’s no risk of giving them a try.
This visit, which is the first time they have had a presence in Texas, is a part of a larger tour The Peach Truck is venturing on this summer. They hope to bring bright, delicious produce to customers across the country.
“This is our first time coming to Texas, but we plan on being back for years and years to come, and our desire is to have a deep relationship with the people of the Lone Star State,” Stephen says.
They are making several stops throughout the Metroplex that Saturday, but they will be parked at the Weir’s Furniture on Nolen from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. If you have plans during that slot but still want to enjoy their offerings, The Peach Truck will be in Lewisville at 9 a.m., Farmers Branch at 3 p.m. and Keller at 4 p.m. on Saturday. And on Sunday, June 2, The Peach Truck will stop in Lake Worth, Plano, Fort Worth, Dallas, Arlington and Fairview.
“We take so much pride in the way we serve every single person who comes to our stops,” Stephen says.
The Peach Truck will sell 25 lb. boxes of peaches, 10 oz. bags of halved pecans and their cookbook when they drive through town. The Peach Truck is 100 percent cashless, so be sure to bring your cards if you want to enjoy their offerings.
