Southlake saw many exciting restaurants open in the city last year. As we leave 2021 behind and look forward to 2022, residents will no doubt be grateful that they have the following fan-favorite eateries to return to for the new year.
Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen
Brought to you by the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” star, Southlake saw not one, but two ghost kitchens open by none other than Guy Fieri. Opening inside Brio Italian Grille and Buca Di Beppo, Guy Fieri’s Flavortown offers a variety of award-winning American delights like the Bacon Mac ’N’ Cheese burger, the Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ wings, the Chocolate Whiskey Cake and much more. You can order from either location online at GuysFlavortownKitchen.com.
Opening in Park Village, Jane is an upscale and chic new restaurant that brings a hotel lobby bar feel to Southlake. With a rotating menu to fit any time during the day, Jane’s offerings include breakfast pastries, Wagyu beef sliders for lunch and sweet chili-rubbed pork belly during dinner. It also boasts an impressive beverage menu that includes house blend coffee and cappuccinos, bubbles and red and white wines.
Fueling the community with signature roasts and specialties, Black Rock Coffee Bar is the newest caffeinated joint to come to the city, and its bold and fresh flavors do not disappoint. From classics like the Americano and cold brew to original creations like the Jackhammer vanilla mocha and the I.V. roast with Irish cream and six shots of espresso, Black Rock Coffee Bar brings a whole new coffeehouse experience to Southlake.
Pickle-brined chicken, fresh buttermilk biscuits and more come with Whistle Britches on Main Street. Originating out of North Dallas, Whistle Britches is a scratch kitchen that offers crispy fried chicken in either sandwiches or pieces. Whether you order its chicken in between a brioche bun, with a side of shoestring French fries or alongside a Belgium waffle, there are several ways to enjoy Whistle Britches’ delicious chicken.
You can't talk about the year’s biggest openings without mentioning the Westin Dallas Southlake, which brought with it a new modern restaurant called Jellico’s. Led by executive chef Jenna Kinard, Jellico’s serves up new takes on classic American dishes like shrimp and grits, tuna crudo and New York strip steak. And with its Curve Lounge boasting an impressive wine and cocktail menu, you’ll find more than a few reasons to celebrate a night out at Jellico’s.
