Bohemian Rhapsody
New Burger And Beer Franchise Comes To Texas.
Boho days await at Grapevine’s newest tavern and beer garden. An up-and-coming chain with six locations in three states, Bohemian Bull is a new American restaurant that emphasizes hand-crafted cuisine and local brews. Co-owned by Las Colinas couple Dennis Johnson and Sonja Singer, Bohemian Bull in Grapevine is the franchise’s first location in Texas.
“Everything is made from scratch,” Sonja says. “The quality is noticeably better than a lot of other places that don’t take that kind of care in the kitchen. That was one of the biggest things that intrigued us about Bohemian Bull.”
Taking over the building that formerly housed Boba China, the restaurant has been revamped into a relaxed, carefree, Bohemian-style atmosphere. The interior is light and bright with chandelier lights and big and bold bull-themed art throughout, including a rainbow-colored bull mural, a longhorn skull at the entrance and a bull mount overlooking the dining room. The outdoor patio also has picnic tables and a patriotic color scheme that further complements the restaurant’s casual Americana vibe.
When it’s time to eat, Bohemian Bull has several hand-made delights to choose from. For starters, the Popper Deviled Eggs are stuffed with pimento cheese and pickled jalapeno and topped with bacon bits and blackening spice, while the Boom Boom Shrimp and the Fried Mac & Cheese Bites are lightly fried for a crispy and savory flavor. But it’s the burgers that shine the most with a Black Angus brisket and chuck blend served with a variety of sauces such as truffle mayonnaise, Thai chili aioli and bacon jam.
Regarding what’s on tap, Bohemian Bull is intentional in highlighting local breweries. With beers from Cowtown Brewing Co., Rahr & Sons Brewing Company and Grapevine’s very own Hop and Sting Brewing Company, Bohemian Bull’s bar specialties are as Texan as it gets.
“We knew this concept would fit in perfectly here,” Dennis says. “It’s become my home away from home, and we certainly hope it becomes that for all of our customers as well.”
