Chef’s KISS
Rock & Brews Takes Center Stage In Grapevine.
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanely of KISS may not have dropped an album since 2012, but the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame frontmen continue to keep busy. Nowadays, the “Detroit Rock City” bandmates hit the road to tour grand openings of their rock-inspired restaurant group, with its latest stop in Grapevine this fall.
With more than 20 locations nationwide, you could say Rock & Brews has been a hit since the first restaurant opened in El Segundo, California in 2012. On June 28, its newest location in Grapevine held a charity night to help get ready for its grand opening and support the Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE) in the process.
“From the moment we decided to bring Rock & Brews to Grapevine, we wanted to be front and center and engrain ourselves in the local community,” CFO Corey Hingson says. “Anyone who comes to Rock & Brews will find something that they like.”
Just like its founders, Rock & Brews specializes in American classics. However, their latest arrangements are more family-friendly bar food than fire-breathing concert. Rock & Brews suggests you open the show with appetizers like Sargent Peppers Jalapeno Poppers, crispy calamari or some barbecue nachos.
Move on to eat like a rockstar from a set list with a little bit of everything from specialty burgers, pizzas and salads to salmon, chicken and steaks. Those looking to spice things up should try Alice Cooper’s Poison Burger made with pepper cheese spread, fried jalapenos and onions and topped with his namesake hot sauce.
The lively atmosphere blends nicely with a lengthy cocktail menu and an even longer list of 48 tap beers that make the restaurant a great place to gather with friends and family.
People may come for the food, but they stay a little longer to “Rock and Roll All Nite” with live music sets from local artists on the rise, tribute bands and the occasional concert replay like Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour. Classic music and classic American fare served stageside or on the patio will have you feeling like a rockstar.
