One of Chicago’s most popular restaurants has landed in Grapevine.
Established in 1963, Portillo’s is a Chicago staple that specializes in serving street food such as Italian beef sandwiches, Maxwell Street polish sausages and Chicago-style hot dogs. With a variety of pasta, sandwiches and salad options, Portillo’s is also notorious for its signature chocolate cake, which can be chopped up and mixed into ice cream for its infamous chocolate cake shake.
The first location to debut the franchise’s “Restaurant Of The Future” design, the new 6,250-square-foot restaurant features a rustic garage theme and seating for around 125 guests, plus an additional 40 in the outdoor patio. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 5, where staff handed a check to the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation.
“The addition of Portillo’s to the more than 200 curated dining options in Grapevine is a testament to our city’s commitment to offering diverse and exceptional culinary experiences,” Grapevine Mayor William D. Tate says. “This exciting new option not only enhances our dining scene, but also reflects our dedication to creating meaningful connections and enriching the lives of our citizens.”
The new Portillo’s is open now at 460 W. State Hwy. 114. To order online for delivery or takeout, visit Portillos.com.
