Reata, the iconic Fort Worth restaurant known for its country decor and Texas cuisine, announces its return to 530 Throckmorton Street. The restaurant will close its doors and notable rooftop terrace at Sundance Square on June 30, 2024, before reopening in the northeast corner of The Tower building in July 2024.
This move serves as an interim step before Reata establishes a permanent flagship location. Despite the change in scenery, Reata’s catering service, Reata on the Road, will continue to operate without interruption.
“Reata transcends physical boundaries,” says Mike Micallef, president of Reata. “It’s not just about the location or decor; it embodies the spirit of Fort Worth. Our community defines us. Our location may change, but the soul of Reata – the people – remains constant.”
Reata's leadership has unanimously decided to stay in Downtown Fort Worth, a decision influenced by the restaurant’s strong synergy with nearby office towers, the convention center, Bass Performance Hall, and local hotels.
"Our history with The Tower is storied and strong," Micallef added, after an F3 tornado devastated their original Fort Worth location in 2000. “Like Fort Worth, Reata is a testament to resilience and rebirth. Together, we will continue to create unforgettable experiences."
In June 2022, SADA Tower LLC and SADA Capital Partners LLC purchased The Tower and The Tower Annex buildings. Since then, they've secured notable tenants, including relocating the headquarters of Fort Worth's iconic workwear company, Dickies.
For those looking to enjoy Reata’s Tenderloin Tamales, Blackened Buffalo Ribeye or one of their famed margaritas on the terrace one last time, reservations are limited but still available online.
