Roanoke Rifts On Nightlife
Rock ‘N’ Roll Lounge Vibes Loom At The Rô On Oak.
Energetic vibes combined with eclectic and luxurious designs will have lounge lovers heading west, not east, to Roanoke’s new nighttime hot spot, The Rô On Oak.
Founded by childhood friends Gabriel Miller and Jonathan Condos, The Rô On Oak is a hip new concept that delivers incredible cocktails, delicious bar food and an unparalleled club experience for those looking for a fun night out on the town. Invoking the swankiness of Upper East Side New York with the cool comfort of Hollywood Hills, Gabriel says they aimed to bring a unique high-end social scene to the area.
“People want to see other people dress up, what their haircut is like, what they’re drinking and eating, what kind of overall vibe they have going on,” Gabriel says. “We designed this place so that people can be the artwork too.”
Guests experience The Rô On Oak’s level of luxury right away with a wood-clad entryway accented with hints of burnt copper. A moiré silk ceiling blankets over the entire venue, while custom plush booths fill the spaces in between with style and splendor. Perhaps nothing is more stylish than the club’s violet marble-topped bar that awaits thirsty patrons. And at the center of it all is The Rô’s fireplace that casts a warm golden glow throughout.
Inspired by the rock ‘n’ roll icons from Gabriel and Jonathan’s youth, The Rô’s drinks are all named after famous rock songs, including Led Zeppelin’s “Ramble On” bourbon cocktail, Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” scotch and the Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up” espresso martini. A variety of shareables that include deviled eggs, chili garlic shrimp, Wagyu meatballs and bruschetta with goat cheese are all served with flair. For those looking to liven up their atmosphere, a grand piano is positioned in the main foyer ready for anyone to come in and play their favorite tunes.
“A lot of people come here for the food and the drinks, but they’ll stay for the playlist,” Jonathan says. “I’ll find them still here two or three hours later — they canceled their reservation because they wanted to stay for the vibe. I love that people want to be here.”
