Hungry? You’d better be if you’re visiting Taste of Dallas at Fair Park—the largest event dedicated to all things food in North Texas. Celebrating its 29th year, the culinary spectacular is pulling out all the stops to make sure even the most discerning foodies have the time of their lives, adding two new delicious attractions.
The first is the BBQ Battle Royale, where skilled barbecue pit masters will battle it out to see who can cook up the best brisket, ribs and chicken for a grand prize of $25,000. For even more mouthwatering fun, they’ve also added a high-end tasting experience in the Centennial Building: Taste the Difference.
For a separate entry fee, guests ages 21 and up will have the opportunity to take a four-hour
culinary tour through the best restaurants in North Texas, sampling wine, beer and spirits, enjoying chef demonstrations, and of course, savoring extraordinary eats. And all those food encounters will leave more than your stomach satisfied, as proceeds raised benefit a variety of charities, including the American Heart Association, which will also be onsite at the event for health screenings, heart-healthy education and family-friendly entertainment.
If you’re still craving more, check out the Restaurants on the Esplanade to explore entrees from more than 50 area restaurants, ready to try for just $1 to $4. And for those who prefer to eat dessert first, The Sweet Factory beckons with cupcakes, ice cream, candy, cookies and so many more reasons to cheat on your diet for the day. Don’t forget to take home a piece of Taste of Dallas at the culinary marketplace, where some of the season’s newest kitchen tools and barbecue products will be available for purchase. This is one event worth working up an appetite for!
