There's sad news out of Ride With Pride, Inc., the Southlake school that specializes in teaching students how to care for and safely ride horses Western-style: Its beloved school horse, Chocolate, has passed away.
Additionally, the school has several sick horses on its hands. After having routine dental work done, many of the horses experienced trouble with their gut, which led to colic. One of the horses, Dolly, who is used by many students with special needs, is in ICU at Outlaw Equine after undergoing life-saving surgery. She’s fighting an infection and needs plasma each day.
The school reports vet bills were $14,000 last year. This year, costs are nearing $30,000. If you'd like to make a tax-deductible donation to help with veterinary care for Dolly and to help purchase two new school horses, which cost $3,000 each, contact Outlaw Equine at 940.626.8387. Or, you can send a check to Amy's Wish With Wings at 480 W. Highland, Southlake, TX 76092.
