While Rangers fans may have not had a lot to cheer for when the World Series kicked off last night, there’s still something locals can be excited about. Arlington was just placed in Wallet Hub’s 2019 Best Baseball Cities.
The personal finance website evaluated more than 360 U.S. cities with at least one professional or college baseball team across 31 key metrics including everything from the performance level of the teams to average ticket price. And Arlington came in at No. 8.
New York, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Boston and Chicago made up the list’s top five cities with Atlanta and San Francisco ranking right before Arlington. Oakland and Cincinnati completed the top 10. The Astros’ hometown of Houston came in at No. 16.
The report also included information about this year’s highly anticipated World Series – like the cheapest ticket to last night’s game came in at $471 according to TicketIQ. And tickets for Game 7 are going for as much as $16,450.
Thankfully, Rangers fans won’t have to pay anywhere close to that next season in Arlington’s upcoming attraction: its newest stadium.
