The Festival of Lights once again returns to Southlake this weekend. Hosted by the Southlake Foundation, DiwaliFest, or Deepavali, is a vibrant celebration that brings the community together in the name of Indian culture and tradition. With a variety of live entertainment and unique experiences, here are five things to look forward to at DiwaliFest on Oct. 26th.
1. Eat Up
One of many things India is known for is its herbaceous and heartwarming cuisine. From curry to biryani, all of India’s quintessential flavors are prominently featured in Town Square. Whether you indulge in the intense spices or savor the sweet treats, there’s a dish for every palate at DiwaliFest.
2. Dance The Night Away
If you're looking for other ways to spice up your evening, DiwaliFest also features a variety of live dance performances that will shake up Rustin Pavilion. With a full lineup of spectacular acts, the evening’s entertainment will highlight Southlake’s rich cultural diversity.
3. Festive & Fashionable
DiwaliFest isn’t just about the food and dancing — it’s also about how you dress up for the occasion. At the DiwaliFest fashion show, both traditional and contemporary styles will showcase the vibrant hues and intricate designs that define Indian attire.
4. Take A Picture
Memories last forever when they’re captured on camera, and that’s just as much the case with DiwaliFest’s themed photo booths. With a variety of creative and colorful backdrops, families will love memorializing their DiwaliFest experience together forever.
5. Light Up The Sky
At the end of a long and fun-filled evening, DiwaliFest will embrace its namesake and conclude the event with a big and breathtaking fireworks display! With all of the bright colors shimmering under the night sky, it’s easy to see why DiwaliFest is an evening filled with light and joy.
