With seasonal cheer all around, it's easy to get into the holiday spirit. Between live performances and enchanting exhibits, here are a few events to check out this weekend.
DECEMBER 12-15 | MUSIC HALL AT FAIR PARK
It’s corn! This Tony Award-winning musical comedy directed by “Hairspray” movie producer Jack O’Brien is a theatrical experience that follows the story of Maizy and Beau, a couple planning their wedding in a small town that loves corn. However, when the crops unexpectedly start to die, Maizy finds herself in Tampa searching for solutions to her corny dilemma. Complete with a score by the Grammy Award-winning songwriting team Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, this corn-bred American musical will surely satiate your appetite for a grand performance.
DECEMBER 13-15 | DALLAS
Join thousands of running enthusiasts in the 53rd anniversary weekend of the Dallas Marathon Festival, the city’s largest and Texas’ longest-running marathon. Routing through vibrant neighborhoods, entertainment districts and iconic landmarks, the festival’s courses make for a scenic sprint, jog or walk. There’s a trek for everyone, including a half marathon, 50K ultra marathon, 10K, 5K, team challenges, kids races and more. Don’t worry if you’re late to the finish line — your participation alone helps the Dallas White Rock Marathon nonprofit donate to Scottish Rite for Children, raising more than $4.5 million since being named the primary beneficiary in 1997.

This beloved Southlake tradition is returning for another evening of seasonal serenades by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Performing a blissful blend of holiday classics, spectators will delight in lovely weather for a Sleigh Ride together, a Nutcracker for all to see and many more festive musical selections. Before you go, warm up your vocal cords for the Holly Jolly sing-along to end the night with a heartwarming melody.
DECEMBER 12 - JANUARY 5 | NORTHPARK MALL
All aboard this one-of-a-kind experience featuring 1,600 feet of train tracks that journey through Dallas and many iconic American cityscapes. Refreshed with new installments every year, locomotive fans who appreciate the craftsmanship of model trains will enjoy the endless displays of this exhibit. To top it all off, ticket proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, supporting an average of 70-plus families traveling to DFW from around the state, country and world for critical medical care for their sick or injured child.

Hoping for snow this holiday season? Look no further than SNOWDAY, a fully immersive adventure filled with countless imaginative rooms from Elven Alley to the mirror maze of lights. Following a trek through this magical winter wonderland, enjoy a simulated ride to the North Pole, a walk with polar bears through the moonlit forest and a visit to Santa’s enchanting chalet.
