From butterflies to beers to broadway musicals, Southlake has a weekend full of adventures ahead of them. Whether you check out the newest community festival or go on a pub crawl, here are some of the best happenings you have to look forward to.
SEPTEMBER 27 | SOUTHLAKE
Grab your lederhosen and prost to the occasion, because the Southlake Chamber is planning a little Oktoberfest fun ahead of time with its first-ever pub crawl! This Friday, join young professionals at the chamber offices as they hop on a bus, ride around Southlake and raise a glass to the biggest festival in town! Oktoberfest may not be until Oct. 11, but that doesn't mean you can't celebrate early!
SEPTEMBER 28 | BOB JONES NATURE CENTER
Butterflies will be fluttering around during the Monarch Butterfly Festival this month! Every year, the Bob Jones Nature Center releases 1,000 butterflies into the wild, but before they do, locals will have the chance to interact with them and learn about what makes them unique and special. Come and experience family-friendly activities, including face-painting, games, and arts and crafts, then gather the whole family as you watch all of the butterflies fly to their new home.
SEPTEMBER 27-28 | PALACE THEATRE
Lights, camera, action! This weekend, Grapevine's Palace Theatre is hosting the Manhattan Short Film Festival, which will feature a special screening of 10 short films from around the world. Plus if you bring a same-day receipt from any Grapevine restaurant, you'll get a free bag of popcorn at the concession stand to go along with your showing. It'll be a fun evening at the movies that you won't want to miss!
SEPTEMBER 25-29 | WINSPEAR OPERA HOUSE
The phone rings, the doors chime, and in comes “Company” to the Winspear Opera House! Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, “Company” is adapted from Stephen Sondheim’s original production about a 35-year-old woman navigating the perils of single life. Featuring award-winning songs such as “You Could Drive A Person Crazy,” “The Ladies Who Lunch” and “Side By Side By Side,” you’ll feel grateful for “Being Alive” to see this iconic musical on stage.
