Dragons, snowmen and Emerald Belles are coming to Southlake this weekend, and you’ll have the chance to have fun with all of them. After last week's 20th annual Stars and Stripes Festival was a resounding success with over 900 attendants, some eager residents are very understandably looking for the next fun thing to do this weekend. Not to worry. Whether you’re looking for a fun night on the town or are looking for just a simple family movie night, there’s something to do this weekend for everybody in Southlake.
Do you want to build a snowman? Come to Party N Glow’s Frozen Day party 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at 2140 East Southlake Blvd. and dress up as some of your favorite characters from the iconic movie “Frozen," including the enchanting Elise and her earnest sister Anna. For $40, your child will enjoy a day full of hair braiding, arts and crafts, nail polish and dancing as they re-enact their favorite “Frozen” adventures. Just let it go and have fun!
Dove Church Family Movie Night
Did you miss “How To Train Your Dragon 3” back when it was in theaters? Not to worry! Dove Church is hosting a free outdoor screening of the animated adventure flick right behind their church fields at 2380 Lonesome Dove Road. Brings your chairs, pillows and blankets, come hungry and grab your popcorn or hot dogs as you come and enjoy the epic conclusion to DreamWorks’ most exhilarating fantasy trilogy. Seating starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, with the showing beginning between 8-8:30 p.m.
Parkour Warrior Parents Night Out
Need to get your kids out of the house and have them release all of that built-up energy they’ve stored up throughout the day? Drop them off 5 p.m. on Saturday at 2120 East Southlake Blvd., Suite B and let them jump, climb, roll around and run across a parkour course designed specifically for safety and fun. Tickets are $35 per child, and the best part is whenever you’re ready to pick them up at 9 p.m., they’ll be all tuckered out and ready for bedtime.
Lemurs, meerkats and kangaroos are the special guests at this weekend’s Touch and Learn Petting Zoo at Small World BIG Imagination in Southlake – and you’re invited to attend along with them. Come anytime between 2 and 3 p.m. on Sunday at 280 Commerce Street at Suite 280 and meet these animals in-person as you have a chance to learn about their lives and habitats up-close. Learning as never been so much fun, or for that matter, as cute and cuddly.
Emerald Belles Southlake Town Square Celebration
The Emerald Belles are being honored this weekend for their dazzling televised audition on "America’s Got Talent," and you’re invited to come on out and celebrate with them. Come line up at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Southlake Town Center and celebrate the Belles’ incredible accomplishments at this pep rally and parade. Tune in later this season and you might even see yourself on TV as "America’s Got Talent" will also be there to tape a segment for the show. So don’t miss it, come on out and support your community and the Emerald Belles!
