Holiday Shopping That Makes A Difference

It’s almost that time of the year for Southlake shoppers to save money and save lives with Partners Card. The 10-day shopping extravaganza benefiting local family violence agency, The Family Place, kicked off Friday, October 30 and wraps up on Sunday, November 8. It’s an iconic annual shopping fundraiser that thousands of people across DFW participate in, including Southlake resident Julie Horn and her friends.
Horn has been involved with The Family Place for over 20 years now, first starting as a volunteer. The Family Place is the largest family violence service provider in North Texas and has been saving lives and serving the community since 1978. The agency empowers survivors of physical and emotional domestic abuse by providing safe housing, counseling and support in learning skills that allow former victims to begin their new lives.
“The work that The Family Place does is important to so many families in our community. The services they provide help victims become survivors,” shares Horn.
Partners Card is the largest fundraiser for The Family Place. Shoppers can purchase a Partners Card for $75 to save 20% at retailers and 10% at restaurants across North Texas. And 100% of a Partners Card purchase goes directly to support The Family Place programs and services for the victims of family violence.
“It truly is a win-win situation. Shoppers can save money at more than 500 participating stores while also supporting an amazing cause,” shares Horn.
Horn and her friends look forward to the event every year. In years past, they have come together with the Southlake community for an annual kickoff party for Partners Card at Starpower. However, in light of COVID-19, The Family Place made the decision to cancel the event this year in an abundance of caution.
While the party may be canceled, Horn and her friends are still excited to hit the town and shop with their Partners Cards. In fact, Horn like many others has already made her shopping list! She plans to make stops at Bandier, Veronica Beard, and Aveda. In Southlake, some of Horn’s favorites stores to shop at are Tyler’s for her kids and Williams Sonoma for stock up on home goods and hostess gifts.
“All of the things I purchase with my Partners Card I would buy regardless, so why wouldn’t I do my shopping at a time when I can get it at a discounted price and also support the amazing work done at The Family Place?” says Horn.
