Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses have graced Hollywood movie stars dating as far back as Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast At Tiffany’s.” They became topical again atop Tom Cruise in “Risky Business” and again in “Top Gun,” and later still in “Top Gun: Maverick.” These ageless icons have been Hollywood staples for decades (the glasses, not Tom) and have both the fashion and function to make anyone a movie star.
By teaming up with Meta, Ray-Ban has introduced the first generation of smart glasses which come in three styles — Wayfarer, Round and Metro, with a variety of lenses and 10 colors from which to choose. Functionally, they are powered with dual 5-megapixel cameras, three built-in microphones and a pair of discrete open-ear speakers that allow wearers to enjoy all of the creativity life has to offer for up to six hours per charge. They also come with a charging case that provides three additional charges.
Simply say “Hey Facebook,” and you’re the director, telling your sunglasses to do anything from take a photo, record a video, play music, make a phone call or send a message. When you’re ready, content can be seamlessly imported into the Facebook View app, where you can create, edit and share your favorite moments with family and friends.
