For over 19 years, the Gaylord Texan Resort has been helping families create wonderful summertime memories. Today, the world-class resort is continuing that tradition during its annual SummerFest celebration.
Running through Sept. 5, the Gaylord Texan Resort’s SummerFest features several pirate and princess-themed activities for the whole family. At the Pirates and Princess Academy, boys and girls can participate in an interactive live show where they can become honorary members of the captain’s crew as they take the pirate pledge or the princess oath and join the royal court. The entire family will be amazed by daring aerial acrobatics and incredible contortion in Summer Of Cirque: A Pirate’s Adventure, an exciting live show that tells the story of a young boy who dreams of becoming a pirate. Throughout the atrium’s indoor gardens, pirates and princesses of all ages can also solve puzzles and discover hidden treasures in the Shiny Stash Scavenger Hunt. When your young explorer is ready to take a break, they can visit the Pirates and Princesses Art Studio and let their imagination run wild by decorating their own themed canvas or woodcraft.
But the kids aren’t the only ones having fun this summer! While they’re busy exploring and treasure hunting, Mom and Dad can partake in a variety of culinary events, from chef-curated food and spirit pairings to sommelier-led wine dinners. In addition, visitors can relax and unwind at Relâche Spa, offering a variety of luxurious treatments such as rejuvenating massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, then afterward they can take advantage of the spa’s sauna, steam room and slumber lounge.
Even more summer fun awaits you at Paradise Springs, the 10-acre outdoor waterpark that has everything from a 600-foot-long lazy river and winding waterslides to a 6,000-square-foot family lagoon and a giant water treehouse. The pool comes alive over the weekend with a live DJ, hair braiding, airbrush tattoos and more. Private cabanas are also available if you’re looking to make your pool experience even more memorable.
