From concerts to Valentine's Day events, here's what is going on in February.
Feb. 5 | Will Rogers Memorial Center
The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo comes to a close this weekend with Texas’ very own Ryan Bingham. An Academy and Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter who stars as Walker in the western television series “Yellowstone,” Ryan Bingham combines several genres into his music, including blues, country and Americana. When he picks up that guitar and harmonica, your crazy heart will love listening to Ryan Bingham’s American love songs.
Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show
Feb. 7 | Winspear Opera House
Admire gorgeous fashions while benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at the glamorous Saint Valentine's Day Luncheon & Fashion Show. Your face will look like the real-life heart eyes emoji when watching models strut down the runway in bold spring fashions, all while celebrating 38 years of fashion for a cure. The amazing show has clothes provided by Highland Park Village, delicious cuisine and an awards ceremony benefiting corporate and community leaders. You’ll feel good about fighting blood cancer and making a statement in the same night!
Feb. 11-13 | Bass Hall
The year is 2022, but the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is taking us all the way back to 1985 with its presentation of “Back To The Future!” This concert honors the iconic film starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, which went on to top the box office chart, spawn two successful sequels and leave a lasting impression on pop culture. Watch the film on a high-def screen where you can see the DeLorean in all its glory while the FWSO performs Alan Silvestri’s iconic score live with the film.
Feb. 12 | Dallas
Fall in love this Valentine’s weekend — just not in the way that you might think. At Cupid’s Chase, you will love and admire the spectacular views of downtown Dallas over the Ronald Kirk pedestrian bridge along the Trinity River! This morning race raises money for the nonprofit Community Options and its mission to improve the lives of people living with developmental disabilities. Wear your red-and-white cupid gear, lace up your best running shoes and get ready for a fun race!

Chocolate aficionados may not be able to swim in a sea of chocolate Willy Wonka-style, but they can do the next best thing — sign up for the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K in Dallas! After running through Fair Park with fellow choco-lovers, you’ll be treated to the most delicious after-party ever! Each finisher will get a commemorative mug to sip creamy hot chocolate, as well as chocolate fondue and sweet dippables that are guaranteed to lead to a sugar high even bigger than your runner’s high. What else can you say? Chocolate is just that good.

Who needs flowers and chocolates when Kacey Musgraves wants us to be her Valentine this year? The iconic country-pop star recently released her first album in three years, “Star-Crossed,” the follow-up to her 2018 Grammy Album of the Year “Golden Hour.” She’s stopping by Dallas on Feb. 14 as part of her “Star-Crossed: Unveiled Tour” to showcase her sweeter-than-candy-hearts voice and lyrics that will cut you to your soul. Expect to hear new hits like “Simple Times,” “Hookup Scene,” “Good Wife,” “Breadwinner” and “Justified” from her fourth album, as well as timeless favorites like “Butterflies,” “Slow Burn” and “High Horse.”

February is the month of romance, which is why it’s the perfect time to see Madame Butterfly, an opera by famous Italian composer Giacomo Puccini. This is a tale of unrequited love between a beautiful young geisha named Cio-Cio-San and an American naval officer named B.F. Pinkerton. Unfortunately, after they are wedded, Pinkerton abandons her and their young son with devastating results. This beautiful and tragic tale represents so many things from sacrificial love to the oppression of Asian culture by the West, but it is mostly an amazing romantic comedy filled with wonderful music and emotions.
Feb. 18-20 | Music Hall At Fair Park
Did you know it’s been 13,140,000 minutes since “Rent” first captured our hearts? Now Jonathan Larson’s Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical is celebrating its 25th-anniversary tour by returning to Music Hall at Fair Park. This emotional production follows a year in the lives of a diverse group of friends who struggle to follow their artistic dreams without selling out. This powerful show has taken the world by storm, with fans over every continent from every generation. Audiences will be mesmerized by the captivating choreography, the beautiful set design and stunning performances of “La Vie Boheme,” “One Song Glory” and of course, “Seasons Of Love.”

Entertaining circus acts set to classical music — what could be better? The Plano Symphony Orchestra is performing Cirque De La Symphonie for one night only, featuring world-aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers and strongmen as their guests. All of these thrilling performances are synchronized to the sounds of classical music performed by a full orchestra for a truly unique experience. Feb. 19 | Dallas
Court jesters dressed in green, purple and gold parade through the streets. Everyone is wearing beads and drinking Hurricanes. Masquerade masks cover every face as the crowd gathers to turn McKinney Avenue in Dallas into Bourbon Street in New Orleans for the Mardi Gras bar crawl! Come our for a huge Mardi Gras celebration and dress in your favorite themed costumes and headpieces. Nobody really grows out of their love for big trucks and playing in the dirt, do they? Fulfill your childhood fantasies at Monster Truck, an adrenaline-fueled family event that features famous monster trucks and their talented drivers competing in freestyle, two-wheel skills and racing competitions with other big trucks. It’s an unexpected event where anything can happen! Huge fans can also buy tickets to the Pit Party, where you can tour the trucks up close, watch pre-race interviews with drivers, get pre-signed autographs, take pictures and even more before the competition begins.
Feb. 26 | Oak Cliff
Dashing for beads is much more fun than the other Mardi Gras tradition, which is why Dash For The Beads is going on later this month. Go for a 10K or a 5K run or a 1-mile walk at Dash For The Beads, which raises money for physical fitness, healthy eating and arts programming at local schools. After your dash, join the Mardi Gras-themed after-party featuring mimosas and ice cold beer for those 21 and up, as well as food trucks and local vendors. This is a fun-for-the-family way to celebrate this playful holiday.
