Jousting, guitar smashing and some of the hottest hip-hop stars are coming together for one night: PostyFest! The second annual festival — created by and starring rapper Post Malone (“Better Now”) — is like one big party featuring Meek Mill (“Going Bad”), Pharrell Williams (“Happy”) and Rae Sremmurd (“Black Beatles”) among many, many others. This festival was created by Post Malone, a Grapevine native who is known for his deep lyrics, his blend of music styles and his face tattoos. Even if his festival is only half as random, weird and amazing as Post is, then it will be totally epic.

This Grammy-, ACM- and Emmy- winning country singer first rose to fame in the ’90s with hits like “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl),” “Walk Away Joe” and “She’s in Love With the Boy.” Now, she hosts “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen” on Food Network and is often spotted onstage with famous hubby Garth Brooks. This southern belle is touring to promote her first album in 12 years “Every Girl,” including hits “Every Girl in This Town” and “What Gave Me Away” featuring Brooks.

If you are a proud cat lady, love watching hilarious cat videos or have a precious little fur-ball named Whiskers, then “Cats” was made for you. This Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber (“The Phantom of the Opera”), who based it on T.S. Eliot’s “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.” The story introduces a tribe of cats called the Jellicle, who choose a new cat every year to descend to the Heaviside Layer to be reborn. If you get lost, don’t worry — the cats often break the fourth wall to explain everything to the audience.

If you haven’t screamed “Work it, girl!” while sashay-ing around the room when “RuPaul’s Drag Race” is on TV, then you’re doing it wrong. Can’t get enough of RuPaul and the drag queens? See many of stars from the 13-time Emmy- winning show when they come to Dallas as part of the Werq the World Tour! This show is hosted by producer Michelle Visage and sixth season winner Bianca Del Rio, who take the audience on a journey to outer space to save the galaxy. You will also see live performances by Aja, Peppermint, Sasha Velour, Latrice Royale and more!

Hear for yourself at the HBCU’s DRUMLine Live Holiday Spectacular, a magical evening celebrating the start of the holiday season! They’ll perform new and old Christmas songs mixed with the sounds of jazz, soul and Motown rhythms blended with a fresh, hip-hop beat. And it’s not just instrumentals: This show also includes beautiful vocals, festive costumes and cheerful choreography.

This eight-time Tony-winning Broadway play is coming to Winspear Opera House to share the story of Guy, a Dublin troubadour, and Girl, a young Czech woman. Guy is about to give up his dream when he meets Girl, who loves his songs. Their chemistry grows, and so does his music. In a unique twist, the actors really play music and perform on-stage. “Once” will take your breath away, until “The End.”

Welcome the arrival of the holiday season (finally!) at Southlake’s Home for the Holidays annual tree lighting. Go snow tubing down a four-lane hill, sing along with Christmas carolers, take a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride, build a snowman and take your picture with Santa as Southlake turns into the North Pole. Admission is free, but canned food, toys and clothing donations are encouraged for the Christmas is for Children program, which provides a happy Christmas to all (and to all a good night!).

It’s Turkey Day: a day of football, baking and oh-so-amazing pies! Follow the tradition of thousands of people by beginning holiday festivities with the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot!
