The largest wine festival in the southwest is heading back to Grapevine. From September 12 to 15, the 33rd annual GrapeFest will take over historic Grapevine with live entertainment, beverage tastings, vendor booths and overall family fun.
Whether you are coming out for a few hours or are taking advantage of the whole weekend, there are a few things you should know before stepping into GrapeFest. Never fear – we’ve got you covered.
- Bring sunscreen. Yes, you should apply it before you go, but it’s going to be a hot weekend. So bring a bottle with you so you can reapply throughout the day.
- Score free parking while avoiding a long walk by taking advantage of the festival’s shuttle service.
- For those more interested in the carnival games than the vino, come into the north entrance to be closer to the action. While there is wine all throughout the strip, the south entrance does put guests closer to the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic.
- Get your hands – or rather your feet – dirty by entering the GrapeStomp. It’s a great way to be a part of the fun.
- There’s a whole lot of wine to be had at GrapeFest, but you can enjoy some bubbly with some coveted shade at the Champagne Terrace.
- While there is plenty of festival food, a plethora of Grapevine eateries will be open throughout the weekend that are worth exploring.
- If you need a cool place to take in some entertainment and enjoy a little AC, then stop by the historic Palace Theatre within the grounds. All films are free with festival admission.
- Want to explore the festival for free? Guests will receive complimentary admission all day Thursday (from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.) and until 5 p.m. on Friday. It’s a great way to scope out the area.
