With the fall semester one month away for Southlake Carroll Dragons, the Texas Education Agency released further guidance on how districts can start school in August.
According to the TEA’s updated guidelines, Texas school districts can temporarily limit access to on-campus instruction for the first four weeks of school and rely on remote learning. After the first four weeks, a district can continue to limit on-campus instruction for an additional four weeks with a board-approved waiver to TEA. Exemptions where students can still attend classes on-campus include families that lack internet access or devices at home.
Carroll ISD already has a remote learning option in place that parents can request for the children from August 3-12. CISD Superintendent Dr. David Faltys says the district just received the updated guidelines from TEA and will review it alongside their current fall planning guide.
