There’s nothing like an ice-cold beer on a warm day, which is why we are so excited to have Shannon Brewing Company as FÜDTRUKY’s official beer partner. The Keller brewhouse, founded by Shannon Carter, prides itself for making beer the old-fashioned way while also embracing its natural beauty.
Shannon Brewing Co. uses water from the oldest documented natural spring in Texas. And by brewing with fire throughout the entire process, all of their beers have a distinctive taste.
“That gives us a unique caramelization in our sugars that translates into a unique flavor profile in all of our beer,” Shannon says.
For those who want to gain insight into what Shannon Brewing Co. is all about, try the Shannon Irish Red. The malt-forward amber is lightly hopped, has caramel notes and balances sweet and bitter flavors.
“The Irish Red has become kind of our staple beer,” Shannon says. “We brought that one out when we were a brand new brewery, and we got known for it. We would have many, many people say that if we ever change it, they would come after us.”
Beer drinkers looking for a light option can enjoy the Shannon Crystal Wheat – a German-style Kristallweizen (clarified wheat beer).
“This one is a really nice gateway beer,” Shannon says. “It’s the easiest one if you are not sure about craft beers.”
Shannon Brewing Co. will also offer two IPAs – the Shannon Mór IPA and Shannon Love ’n Haze IPA – that go great with food. Both have citrus notes but definitely carry individualized characteristics.
FÜDTRUKY is also proud to celebrate the launch of Shannon Brewing Co.'s brand new beer: the Tejas Light.
"This beer will be featured at FÜDTRUKY this Saturday along with a great lineup from the brewery," Shannon says. "Tejas Light is a straw-colored blonde ale, brewed with Texas spring water, organic malts and noble hops. This beer is very drinkable at 130 calories, 4.3% ABV, and only 12 IBUs."
No matter what you try, Shannon is excited to see people exploring and learning about new beers while also enjoying delicious food. He and his team will be out throughout the day to recommend pairings and educate guests on his one-of-a-kind brews.
“I’m looking forward to trying some great food and seeing what’s out there,” Shannon says.
